Governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi, has said that virtually every Nigerian is corrupt in one way or the other.

Governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi, has said that virtually every Nigerian is corrupt in one way or the other. He said this at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), after he was named the head of the committee to screen the party’s candidate for Ondo governorship election.According to the governor, who is among those heavily owing salaries of workers in their states, corruption is beyond financial corruption. He said, looking at corruption in a broader perspective, “you will see that virtually every Nigerian is corrupt.”The governor expressed confidence in the party, promising that the APC will emerge victorious in the coming Ondo governorship election.“We are looking at corruption in a global perspective as against just taking money. If you look at it generally, you will see that virtually every Nigerian is corrupt, virtually everybody is corrupt in one way or the other either attitudinally, financially or socially, and this, we believe should be looked into.“We believe corruption is more than just taking money, I think it is attitudinal. Anytime you do what you are not supposed to do, it is corruption.

Even not doing your job is corruption; taking salaries monthly and not coming to work and being idle is corruption.” It is indeed our pleasure, honour and privilege to be given this opportunity to serve our party particularly on this onerous task of screening some of our members who are interested in becoming the governor of Ondo state.“We are expected to be fair, just and ensure that those that we choose will definitely become the next governor of Ondo state. I believe once we are fair, once we look for quality, there is no doubt that we will win in Ondo state.“As some of us are known as jinx breakers, anything we touch wins; this will not be an exception. Whoever we choose, I can guarantee, we will win,” Ajimobi said.Ajimobi’s committee members are, Joe Igbokwe, Fatsuma Talba, Felix Nwachukwu, Aminu Jacob Momoh, Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar and Alhaji Umar Duhu. The nomination form for the aspirants is put at N5million and N500,000 for the expression of interest form.

SHOCKING: ‘How I delivered $47 million in 11 suitcases to Dasuki’

More shocking revelations have come on how huge cash estimated at $2billion meant for arms purchase was allegedly diverted by key government officials and politicians during the Dr. Goodluck Jonathan Presidency.
A former Director of Finance in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Mr. Shuaibu Salisu, said $47million was withdrawn from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in 11 suit cases.
He said he suspected that the cash might have been given to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He, however, said as a civil servant, he was innocent because he only carried out instructions from the ex-National Security Adviser, Mr. Mohammed Sambo Dasuki.
The Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Justice Ishaq Bello, yesterday ordered that Salisu be either arraigned in a competent court of law if there is any basis for so doing or be released on administrative bail on terms to be settled by the applicant.
It was also discovered that N10billion was withdrawn from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for gubernatorial and State Houses of Assembly elections.
